Miss Lizzie won two more points in fairly big style today by taking Best of Winners and Best of Breed over a special. :o) And, she had FUN! Well, until we got to the group ring...she was d-o-n-e done by the time that rolled around, so was a bit flat. Oh well...Yay!
We only drove down for the one day of the show, but I'd say it was worth it!

George Alston
I feel smarter now...or at least more aware of everything I do in the ring. I'm sure the feeling won't last LOL. But the seminar was great, and George wasn't nearly as mean as everyone made him out to be. Heidi and I took 4 cardis...Lizzie, and then Heidi's 3 bitches. Leo-the-mouth stayed home, and I'm glad I didn't bring him as I'm quite sure he would have gotten kicked out of the building.
As it turned out, I didn't need the second dog to work with...Lizzie did AWESOME! She was having so much fun, I think this was JUST what she needed. It was a lot of work, but every time I brought her out of her crate her tail was wagging and she was ready to go, so I kept working with her. As it turns out, Heidi is the one who needed 2 dogs to work, and then our 4th dog ended up going to a brand-spanking-new junior handler boy (age 9) who was supposed to be borrowing an aussie for the weekend. But said Aussie was a NUT, and said 9-year old was easily frustrated, so we offered him Dixie. Dixie is 7, has been through Heidi's two sons as juniors, and has enough ring time logged to make her a champion 18 times over (if she was actually worthy of it) LOL. The 9 year old got "Most Improved" in the beginner class, so I guess it worked out. :o) And I think they're considered getting him a Cardi as a juniors dog...right now they have a male Great Dane puppy (!!!) that he was going to use. Eeek!
Anyway, all in all a good weekend. Except that Heidi is a bad navigator and we got lost more than once LOL.

I am disgusted
There are times when I REALLY hate our media. Today is one of those times.
WHY do we need to see photos of the Virginia Tech madman plastered all over the front pages of our newspapers, pointing guns at us all or at his own head? Could you play any more easily into making him into the celebrity martyr that he so desperately wanted to be? Clearly he wanted the attention, since he mailed it to NBC...knowing that no media outlet could possibly resist the chance to "break" THAT story. Gee, kudos to them for not releasing anything until after they turned it over to the FBI...but of course, they copied everything first.
Personally, I want to see my front page filled with the faces of his victims and their stories. Put the madman and his rants on the back page.

I had a photographer for once
Dave was home and willing to take pictures, so I took advantage. :o) They aren't great, but I can clearly see some of the things I need to work on...such as, not having to choke her to get her to stand still when I hand stack her on the ground:

Not baiting her too high:

Well, this one I like just because I love the cute tail wags, even if they do mess up our pictures sometimes:

Some gaiting pictures..probably not her best possible gait pictures since they're in grass and Brady and Leo were wrestling just out of the camera lens' reach, but a starting point (after Zach and Leo, I just drool all over the tailset/carriage LOL):

Horrible picture, but
Yes, the lighting is awful...stoopid camera. I really wanted to get her out in the pretty sunshine, but had to use auto-focus settings in order to use the timer...blech. Anyway, here's the girl at not quite 9 months. I'm thrilled to see that, for this week at least, her topline has leveled out. Last week it looked HORRID.

I think I've decided to take both her AND my friend's 4 year old champion to the George Alston seminar. It was suggested by someone who has been that we take 2 dogs anyway, because it's a long day for the dogs. And luckily, my friend has 3 trained dogs LOL.

Charlie the big sister
Yesterday morning Dave and I had our big 20 week ultrasound of the baby. This is when they determine gender, if you choose to find out. We had brief illusions of being able to resist the temptation of finding out the gender, but those illusions were quickly dispelled.
So, I'm happy to announce that Charlie is expecting a new BABY BROTHER!
Little crossed feet:

The alien face...he was not being very cooperative on face shots, as both of his hands were up by his face and often crossed in front of it:

And, just because I can (you know you all want to see it)...the "boy parts". Dave jokingly asked her to measure it, and she did! But I think he was disappointed when the measurement came back as .76 CENTIMETERS. ROFL
