See, I told you he spoiled her rotten

Jeff sent me some pictures that he snapped during his long cross-country trip with Lizzie and two of his dogs, Liza and Hooker. Liza is the black bitch, CH Camelot's Cabaret RN, and Hooker is the blue boy, CH Bridgelady's Eagle's Lift TDI CGC RN. Now, I quite honestly didn't know that 3 cardis could sit in the front seat, but I guess I was wrong! As you can see, I don't think she had TOO rough of a time on the trip. ;-)

Lizzie and Liza...I told Jeff his hardest job would be to call them the right name!

I'm not even sure how they managed this one...looks like a puppy pile!

Awwwwww!

Now I know who would protect us

Leo found a rat snake in the yard today. Pretty big bugger too, probably 4-5 feet long. Now, he "protected" us from a very large turtle last week, but I rather discounted that because it was, well, a turtle. But he has shown us that he's no dummy...he barks *very* insistently, but won't get close to them. A lot of our turtles are big snappers, so that's a good thing...happens that the one he found was a regular painted turtle, but still.

Anyway, when I heard him sounding the alarm today I went out to take a look. The snake was very ticked and coiled up to protect itself, and Brady the big idiot was wagging and approaching it like a plaything. And here I thought he was the smart one, but he reacted the same way to the turtle too. Leo wouldn't get within 5 feet of it and was barking very ferociously. Lizzie was, as usual, by the door wanting to come in and hang out on the couch LOL.

So. It's a little gratifying to know that at least ONE of my dogs will let us know if something is amiss and also is smart enough to keep his distance. For the record, we've lived in this house for 3 years and hadn't seen a snake until the last 2 weeks. This is the second large snake we've found recently, I think the first one was a rat snake too but not 100% sure. Still, I really don't like snakes too much, and the first one was in the garage which creeps me out. Dave killed that one...normally I'd prefer to let snakes loose, especially ones that eat rodents, but not if they're going to be IN MY GARAGE. *shiver*

She's home!

And I know Leo is glad to have her back. Lizzie herself might even be glad to be home. ;)

And I'm back!

Whew! I'm pooped. I got in a little while ago and hope to see everyone else checking in over the next couple of days too. :o) Miss Lizzie is on her trek back across country, although after seeing how Jeff lets her sleep on the bed I'm thinking she may not WANT to come back to my house.

I'll post some more later including Lizzie's best of breed picture from a couple of weeks ago, but for now I feel like going and laying in bed for a couple of days. :D Not sure how much news has gotten around, but Lizzie was 3rd in her 9-12 sweeps class and 1st in the regular class. Also, her sire Alex won 2nd in Stud Dog with her as one of his two kids. So overall, I'm thinking that it was worth the trip! I didn't take my camera on the trip with me but hopefully there will be many pictures to go around.

I'm off!

Leaving for the airport in a half hour! I'm all packed (not taking too much!), and my furry traveling partner has arrived. :o) I'm taking a puppy with me for someone on the west coast...Brady is busy "breaking him in" in the backyard right now. Brady is a great puppy socializer, always has been! Leo adores the puppy too, but loves him a little TOO much, so he is inside. I keep telling him that baby puppies can't handle body slams. *rolls eyes*

I can't wait! Exhaustion and all. :P

And now, she's on her way

Today Lizzie and Jeff left for their cross-country drive! Jeff called and said that he hadn't seen any sign of nervousness at all, that she immediately greeted him with wags, so WHEW it seems like she has settled in just fine. I feel much better knowing that! Now suddenly it has become very "real" to me, even though it's still a week until I leave! I can't wait!

She's off!

Miss Lizzie took the first part of her journey to Nationals today...I drove her to Tennessee to a friend who is taking her to Kentucky tonite. From there she will trek with Jeff Money across country, a 3-4 day drive.

I felt sooo bad though...poor Lizzie is really in the grips of her season right now. :( I had thought she would do fine, because we went to the show last weekend and she didn't show any hormonal effects at all, but apparently now that her cycle has progressed she doesn't know what to do with herself. I noticed that yesterday and today she's been pretty snarky with the boys, and when I dropped her off today she was pretty nervous. Poor girl! Normally she just LOVES people, but she wanted nothing to do with anyone. So of course, now I'm second-guessing the whole thing. Sigh.

Thankfully, I know that Jeff is very sweet with his dogs and that he'll do his best to make her comfortable. I just hope she settles in after a while!

Some Pictures

Can you say, two peas in a pod? They don't look that much alike aside from markings/color, and they really don't act alike either...but, they are bestest friends.

Some good old-fashioned, butt-tuckin frappin'.

Hey! They're all looking at the camera!

This picture is just to prove that Lizzie and Brady DO play together. She totally grovels to him.

And well, there was never a doubt that LEO and Brady play together. Pretty fit and trim for an old man, no?

This I just had to include because, how stinkin' handsome is my Leo dog? :o)

I recently bought a new camera, which is why some of these pictures suck. LOL Yes, the camera is way better...but I'm still figuring out how to use it! Hopefully by Nationals I'll at least suck a little bit less. ;-) It DOES have an auto mode that does very well, if worst comes to worst.

Miss Lizzie is leaving us on Sunday for her cross-country adventure. *sniff*sniff*
