Some pictures

Yesterday Jack and I went for our first "outing". He had a pediatrician appointment, and I had several errands to run, so I braved taking the newborn into public. :o) The good news is that he is back up to his birth weight! He's doing just great. He's a little jaundiced, as you can see in the pictures, but not too bad and it should pass quickly. Charlie is curious about him and likes to hold him...although she also has been having quite a few tantrums and isn't sleeping well. Oh well, hopefully she settles in soon.

He's here!

Born on Monday, August 20th...introducing Jonathan David Lamy, a.k.a. "Jack". :o) 6 pounds 13 oz, 19.5 inches long, and doing great! We just got home and are getting settled...here are some pictures, and I'll post more updates in a day or two.

Hold that thought, I guess

Not tonite after all. :-( I am sick as a DOG with a horrible head cold. At my doc appt this morning she and I agreed that I didn't have the energy to attempt an induction unless it was absolutely medically necessary. So we're putting it off, maybe until next Monday.

On the upside, the baby seems to be fine and is now acting in such a way as to alleviate some of our concerns about him.

We have a birthday

As it turns out, due to various complications I've had over the past week or so, they are going to induce me to labor next week. So, baby boy Lamy should be making his appearance on Tuesday the 14th!

Wish us luck. ;-)

Speaking of kitties...

We have taken to calling Lizzie our pet cat. As part of our apartment move and trying to keep our lives manageable while we wait for the house to be done, we dispersed dogs. Leo is staying with our good friends, and Brady is staying with my in-laws. Lizzie is here with us...the apartment does allow dogs, it's just that it's WAY easier to only deal with one dog rather than three. Especially when you're on the third floor.

But she seriously is the Quietest. Cardigan. Ever. She only barks if someone actually knocks on our door. She only needs to go outside a few times a day. She's a natural healer on leash...Dave was commenting how easy and enjoyable it was to walk her, vs Brady who is a constant training session STILL at age 9. She pretty much just wants to lay on the couch next to me or in the office with Dave, chew on her bones, and occasionally play with a squeaky toy.

We take her over to the in-laws or our friends' house for "play dates" with the boys, and she's always glad to see them. But now I'm debating whether I really want them back! ROFL (kidding, kidding...)

Feeling nostalgic today

I was just booking a photography session with my favorite photographer for after the baby is born. I want to get really nice pictures of us as a whole family. This woman does beautiful work, but is pretty $$$ so we haven't had pictures done since Charlie turned 1. Ironically, it was also 3 days after Leo joined our family, and I suggested to the photographer that I could bring him to the session. She looked at me like I was crazy, and I tried to reassure her that he was quite a mellow puppy (he was! I don't know what happened to him!). Anyway, I was just reminiscing and looking back through the proofs....awwwwww.

There were a lot more pictures that didn't include Leo, but trying to keep it somewhat dog-related...
