So, 2 years ago I entered this little show down in central Alabama, Brierfield. It's an outdoor show in a lovely little state park, with a large campground. Doesn't usually pull that much of an entry, but several big handlers do like the show because it's on their way to the larger shows at Perry GA the following weekend. On the night before that show 2 years ago, there was a HUGE thunderstorm. Tents blew over, roads were closed because of flooding and downed tree branches, tornadoes in various parts of the state. That morning, I cautiously decided to go ahead and drive down to the show (2+ hour drive). I arrived to find the show site pretty much completely under water, but a bunch of reluctantly merry show people carrying dogs, wiping feet, mucking around. And I do mean "under water"...the rings were completely filled with standing water. There was mud EVERYWHERE.
So...today, I was entered in Brierfield for a single day, to show Lizzie to Lester Mapes. And guess what! That's right, last night there was again a big thunderstorm. And the rings were again completely, totally under water. I'm thinking that I shouldn't enter this show anymore.
Lizzie won a point, there were 3 bitches and no dogs. Rory was there and was BOB...she got a Group 1 yesterday under Mr. Mapes, so hardly surprising!
Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful. Of course, I'm not entered. :P
On another show note...Lizzie has hair!! Beautiful, soft, shiny hair. She looks mostly like herself again, and just in time for the National. Yay!
